WHAT IS LASER QUEST?

There are over 150 Laser Quest Centres around the world with over 1 million playing each month. Laser Quest started in Manchester in 1989 with the Whitworth Street Centre and from this the game has become a global phenomenon. It was in 2003 that the most advanced Laser Quest will open at The Trafford Centre in Manchester.

PLAYTIME.

The ultimate sci-fi action adventure for all ages. Whether you're 7 or 77 you'll love the adrenaline pumping exhilaration of stalking your opponents and unleashing a volley of laser fire in the battle zone of the 21st century.

Each game session lasts between 20-25 minutes, with up to 30 players. We provide a full briefing and all the equipment you need. Each player wears a futuristic body pack and carries a laser gun, with each game played out in our specially designed, interactive, multi-level labyrinth, with swirling fog, music and lights. Choose anyone of our many game formats with points scored by zapping other players. Games include simple solo or team games to complex replenish games, advanced teams and sentinels.

WHAT'S THE SCORE?

Points are scored by zapping your opponents. Generally players receive unlimited lives & shots. Every time you zap someone you get 10 points. If you get zapped you get knocked out of the game for 3 seconds enabling you to find cover, before your pack turns back on. You also get a few points deducted from your score. Scores are displayed at the end of each game on score monitors and each player receives a personalized scorecard.

PLAY THE GAME

From the multitude of game formats here are four suggestions that have proved popular with many groups. Each one is very different and very enjoyable, choose the games, which suit you best or ask us about the even more adventurous challenges available.

Lone Shark

The basic challenge, which is an excellent way to discover the world of Laser Quest. Each player is kited up with a laser pack and a laser gun, which has unlimited shots. The object of the game is to shoot as many people as possible without getting yourself shot. The scoring system is simple, 10 points when you shoot another player, but you loose 3, 4 or 5 points when you get shot yourself, so it is important to defend as well as attack. There is only one winner, the one who masters the labyrinth.

Basic Instinct

A simple but cunning game, that relies on teamwork rather than individual ability. It is up to you to select two or even three teams. With each player being given unlimited shots and lives, it's the greens vs. the reds. Flashing coloured lights on each laser pack identifies each team. Before the game begins you can decide if team-mates can shoot one another or not during the game!

Two Tribes

In this exciting game you must protect you own team captain and attack your opposition's. With a limited number of shots you must be a hunter & a protector. It's challenging but fun, every time you run out of shots you have to find your way back to your captain to replenish your pack with additional shots.

Head Hunter

Get your own back on the boss. He or She is let loose in the arena with just 25 lives, you must get your shot in first, as you will have just 2 lives. Once you've been shot twice you're energised again to join the boss, united against the remaining workers?!?
